do you ever think "OMG this is gonna be so cool when im done!" but then it ends up not being all that cool so you stop caring and half ass the shading well thats what happened here

more so than any of your stuff this reminds me of what i do. there is ALOT OF POTENTIAL HERE. this just needs a little love, the ground work is laid out. with paintings especially, you are always free to set it down if you're frustrated and come back later. don't remember who, but some famous artist said no true artist should ever consider any work truly finished. you can always go back and make improvements on anything. definately pick this one back up when you're ready.
